Goodridge vs. Classic Tube braided stainless brake lines

I recently ordered and installed 4 Goodridge lines. I also ordered the 5th line (rear center) from Classic Tube. I was pleased with the quality of the Goodridge lines, but I felt they were lacking and I protected them with heat shrink tubing. The Classic tube line was protected with a vinyl coating on the braided stainless. If I were to do it again, I would go with an entire set from Classic Tube. There attention to detail and replicating the stock line construction is far superior to Goodridge. I found routing and securing the front Goodridge lines difficult and unsure if they will stay in place. I am not saying the Goodridge lines are bad, just the fit of the Classic Tube lines seems to replicate the factory lines much better.

Re: Goodridge vs. Classic Tube braided stainless brake lines

I couldn't agree more I did the same thing as you, bought the complete S/S brake line kit from Goodridge only to find out it wasn't complete w/only four S/S lines and that Classic Tube actually made a complete five line kit to replace all the OEM WJ rubber brake lines. I used black nylon spiral wrap to protect the Goodridge lines on any potential contact/wear points.

I posted this information on another forum years ago, and I'm sure I was the first to discover the five line Classic Tube WJ kit, which with it's coated S/S lines is the best choice for S/S line upgrades.

Re: Goodridge vs. Classic Tube braided stainless brake lines

I am sure it was your post I found that pointed me to Classic Tube. I only wish I had found them before I had ordered the Goodridge lines. They work fine, but I was very disappointed with the front lines and lack of the 5th line.
