Just put 22" Wheels on Billy... what you think?

Ended up going with DVD 481 9.5" alloys... with Nexen 285/35/22 rubber... I think he looks spot on to when I originally got him and needed some TLC. So, now he's riding on new rims, new sway bar and rear suspension... need to sort a diff leak... but apart from that... running nice... especially the cross drilled and grooved front discs...

What do you guys think?

Hi Mate, cheers... I'll be honest with you, in a straight line, I notice zero difference between the original 235/65/17's and these... as the suspension on Jeeps is so soft anyway, I was expecting alot harsher ride, but they're fantastic. It's around the corners now that's 100% better, so much more stable on the road due to the minimal tyre wall flex... really happy with them.

As for rubbing, NOTHING in straight line or turning or on full lock BUT there is slight rubbing when reversing lol on lock... worked out where it is and will modify the front bumper this week a little, just needs around 5mm taking out of the plastic and they'll be perfect.

yeah sway bar from ebay and summit racing mate, shipped over... and fitted myself. Dead easy and worth it as it stabilises the whole car BUT I would say the wheels have done more...

Re: Just put 22" Wheels on Billy... what you think?

Cheers guys, it's weird. I'm on the Futuremark forum and not a singe person liked them, in fact they hate them. I think they're missing the point of the look I was going for... it's not gangster or drug dealer, it's freshening the Jeep up... and I think you guys appreciate the look I'm going for... so cheers for the support fellas.

Not sure what to do next really... thinking about a custom stainless exhaust as this one has a hole in it anyway, so may as well upgrade to something nice with a nice rear backbox... not sure what style to go for... any tips on what I could have on the backbox tip?

fair enough me and my dad have 1 he has the 16" wheels and 2000 model done about 50k
i have 2003 model done 130k with 20" wheels and its a total diffrent ride neither of us have changes drop links nor bushes
i really want to get a sway bar but im struggeling to get 1 to the uk for less than 220 notes and im not spending that on something in could live with
would u say the sway bars worth doing realisticly

Re: Just put 22" Wheels on Billy... what you think?

The sway bar deffo tightened it up... is it worth the money? Probably not, as with import tax etc, think it worked out around 280 notes... which is alot... it's hard to say. I was getting cheesed off with the handling on bends in Wales... so it was worth it to me... if it's cheesing you off the same, probably worth buying. If not, then save your money probably... tough one mate.
