New wheels/new tires

Got new tires (and wheels) today. Had to. The alignment was shot, belts were poking through on the tires (garbage wrangler ST's). Thought my tie-rods were gone, but in was just a bad drag link (fixed). So I'm now running 245/70/R16 Firestone Destination A/T's on DC2 wheels. Backspacing pushed the tires out about 1 1/2" but I like it. What do ya think?

Don't worry about him. He doesn't like anything lifted. I think it looks great but now you're like me. As soon as you pull it out of the driveway it's dirty

LOL, that's what I get for asking for opinions, that's cool though, you're entitled to yours.
The old factory wheels were all scarred up and despite all my cleaning efforts... still looked like crap.

Lifted is fine.

I just didn't find anything aesthetically pleasing about these wheels.

LOL yup, I tend to hold my tongue unless someone asked for opinions, when I first saw your post I went "bleeeh!" and was about to move on until I saw the "What do you think?"

You'll also note this is why I don't ask opinions when I do things, I do what pleases me, not others.

Re: New wheels/new tires

1) I'm going to have to agree with Sir Sam a little bit, but How much was the Jeep lifted though? It still looks like stock height.

2) I don't have anything wrong against bigger tires or anything but I don't find anything attractive about the rim style on that one. You should've gone with the SRT Reps. Even though they are expensive they would definitely improve the look of your ride.

3) Have you done any other upgrades or have any specific in mind?

Re: New wheels/new tires

So what you guys are basically telling me is "Make it your own... as long as it looks like everyone elses"...? Lol. No thanks.

I take it back. No opinions please! Lol.

Nah, it's okay. I can take it. That's why I'm asking.

I don't take other peoples opinions as the gospel, but I do like to hear input, good or bad.

One mans junk is another mans.. well you know what I'm saying.

Sorry, but I don't understand why people post threads loaded with pictures of what they're doing, step by step, just to come back with "I don't care about what other people think"... yeah...obviously.

Re: New wheels/new tires

It's all good, like you said, to each his own. It's your Jeep, so you obviously have the final say for what's right for you.

The idea behind an automotive forum, at least in my mind, is twofold.

1) Share technical information and help diagnose problems and find solutions collectively.(chances are if you have the problem, someone else has had it before you, and can guide you through it, or at least drop some helpful hints)

2) Share your own projects ala a build thread. Take a look at pirate, some of the most epic build threads you will ever find are over there. Plus you might actually learn something from someone else's postings.

Re: New wheels/new tires

Yeah, I agree with that. I am seeking constructive criticism, that's why I post. I'm just saying, if I didn't care what other people thought, I wouldn't post what I'm doing.

So, anyone actually like these wheels?

I hate to pile on but since you asked "what do ya think"...I think Dick Cepek himself is covering his eyes on this one.
