OEM suspension - Whats the max tire size you can run?

I'm having a little trouble locating the type/style of tire I want in the size I want for my WJ and was thinking here might be a good opportunity for me to get into plus sizing, sorry for the NooB style post....

I want to keep the OEM suspension, what size could I use on the OEM 17's and is there any speedo recalibration or alignment concerns that I need to address if/when doing this?

Thanks all!

With no trimming or lift it's 245/65/17 which is about 29.5" x 9.6". I wouldn't worrk about the speedo either. It will ony be off by like 2%, but you can use it as a reason to get a superchips tuner!

Re: OEM suspension - Whats the max tire size you can run?

Thanks for the input guys. My stock tires size on my 02 Grand is 235 65 17 and I have been looking for 245 65 17, was having some trouble locating these tires in Canada but have been able to find them state side and with shipping the cost difference is extremely minimal.

I think a 255 70 17 is way too tall. A 255 60 17 would work, sidewall is OEM size, its wider and about as close as you will find to the stock OD but I think I'll stick to the 245 65 17 for a little more width and some more side wall.

Most 30" equivalent tires will work on a wj with no issues unless it's
some big side lug mud tire. But keep in mind you're gonna have to
run one on your spare too unless you're never plan on getting a flat A 30 is about all you"re gonna fit into the
spare tire well unless your just going to leave it sit in back.
So I use the "If it fits in the spare well you can run it rule"
