Painted Rims

I've been wanting to do it for several months, just been to lazy. I finally decided to stop being lazy and paint my rims black. I went with black plastidip because I didn't feel like doing the prep work required for a proper painting (and didn't feel like paying for powder coating).

I got the wheels painted, but ran out of daylight. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to remove the over spray, get them mounted, and also paint my chrome grill black. I think they look pretty good. Especially considering they had some good road rash/corrosion on them to begin with.

Re: Painted Rims

Looks good! I've always liked this style rim, had them on my 02' WJ. Has a solid appearence with the white letter tires.

Re: Painted Rims

I got a picture of them on the Jeep and I must say that I love the looks.

Now the bad, after the first trip out it started peeling on one wheel. However, I pulled it back a little bit and I don't think my buddy got it clean in that area and that's why it didn't stick. Since this is my first experience with Plastidip, I'm going to let it sit for about 1 month to see how it holds up on the wheels. If it holds up well on all the wheels, I'll peel it off this wheel and repaint it along with my grill.

Looks cool, the great thing about plastidip is that you can peel it and start all over again! lol
