SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

Hey guys, i just bought an 03 overland so this is my first post here on jeepgarage. I just had it lowered with the eibach pro kit and im looking to get some wheels for it. I had the SRT8 replicas in mind but cant decide whether to go with 20's or 22's. Need some suggestions on which one and tire sizes because i want to avoid tire rubbing. Ive seen some around for sale that had 255/45/20 for the front and 285/40/20 for the rear. If I pick em up, it sounds like im gonna have to get spacers for the rear. Any suggestions?

Re: SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

Id go with 20". Thats what i have. I run 275 front and rear. It rubs a bit in the front on sharp turns, I think on the next set of tires ill go with 255. But on the rear it depends on the width. The srt8 reps are available in 2 widths i do believe. Someone correct me if im wrong.

Re: SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

I'm most likely leaning towards purchasing the 255/45/20 for the front and 285/40/20 for the rear set because its local and i dont have to order it or anything. It seems i should be fine without rubbing with the front setup then. Now just worried about the 285/40/20 for the rear.

Re: SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

I would recommend keeping all tires the same size and AFAIK 20x10 won't work on a WJ - I so wanted to run them too.

Also as I run 275/45 tires its good to know they will work with the Eibach springs. Want to change to Nittos for more street rubber but the springs will be done in the fall when having the UHP Grappers on will help during winter.

Re: SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

Go 20x9.

When I get some proper street rubber I'm going with 255/45/20 or at most 265/45/20 all round too.

Re: SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

I'm running polished 20"x9 SRT replicas on Hankook Ventus Evos (255-45) with no issues. I've been told that the 10" wide ones don't work on the WJ as well. This set up is exactly the same overall diameter as stock, so speedometer issues are non-existant and you can rotate front to back, which you'll want to do if you're buying some nice low-profile street rubber.

I have a set of polished 20" staggered SRT reps on my doorstep...If they don't work, I'm sure they won't be hard to get rid of lol

Re: SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

Post up photos once you have them installed! I've never seen a staggered set on a WJ (if they do in fact work).

Why don't 20x10's work?

From what I've read here...they're too wide...but I couldn't pass up the deal that I got on them

Re: SRT8 reps on eibach lowered WJ

You might get lucky and be able to swap the pair of 10" wheels with someone in a WK that wants a staggered set up and currently has 9" wheels in the back.

The only way I would imagine you could even begin to make this work is if you went with spacers to bump them out, but then your wheels will stick out and look ghetto...not to mention, spacers creep me out. Something else that can fail that you really can't afford to have fail....
