Does anyone know what the correct tyre pressures are for my 2004 4.7L H.O. Grand Cherokee Overland fitted with Startech 19" alloys and 255/50/19 tyres..
no man max psi is for it not to POP in ur face LOL
max as in that's the max it can handle also imagine the heat and pressure that builds up from driving and hot weather conditions that's askin for something bad
best way to test, get a tire crayon from any auto store, draw a line across the tread. run it down the road and see where it starts wearing from. if it wears in the middle first, then you are over pressure. wears on the outside then you are under..its simple takes some time but you can get it perfect for your vehicle.
My tires are max 35psi and i run them at 40psi onroad and 30 offroad your telling me that these are going to blow up? Been driving these style tires at 40psi for over 5 years...
Yeah but we are not talking about stock tires so...Again, go with what it says on the tire is what I do, maybe 5 more or less depending on how firm you want. I have had 3 sets of BFG AT that say 35max psi and i run em at 40 on road and 30 on road. No problems in years.
I'd go with wider tires myself....ohh wait, you said tire pressure. What do you know about pressure? lol I have hankook (275/45/20) and run them at 35 psi cold. I would do the crayon test like hemijon said first.
