Treadwright review!! Recapped tires!!!

Ok I bought the Treadwright Puma A/T (E) in a 245/75R16. 5 of them shipped for around 600 bucks. https://treadwright.com/p-32-245-75r16-puma-a-t-e.aspx

So far I only have about 100 miles on them but they seem great. Lots of grip on snow packed and icy roads. Handle well on dry freeway with average or less than average road noise.

I did have one issue with one tire that will hopefully be resolved shortly. Basically the molding was screwed up right in the center of the tread causing a bad air leak. It seemed like there were air bubbles in the mold. Pics of issues below.

Re: Treadwright review!! Recapped tires!!!

In pic 3 you can see where I poked my finger into the tread where a bubble was. This was only on one tire the other 4 are perfect. All on firestone AT carcasses. Hopefully get into some more offroad stuff soon. I'll be reporting back.

More pics of the tires mounted after 150 miles. First pic you can see the obvious marks from the molding process. Thats to be expected with molding. Notice the Bili shock hiding back there

Pretty common on big rigs. From my research i found that they fail because of improper air pressure, heat and alignment issues. Big rigs are a whole different animal too.

Re: Treadwright review!! Recapped tires!!!

Well I'm over 500 miles on the new shoes already and really really pleased. They are wearing well but I do need an alignment so that is making the front driverside wear faster than normal. The Kedge grip is pretty cool, the walnut shells have started working their way out. These things grip! After riding in my dads honda accord I'm even more impressed with the noise level as his car was WAY louder than my jeep at freeway speeds. Customer service has been great regarding the one tire I had that was screwed up. I have yet to find anything to complain about aside from the fact that they took all the fun out of sliding around in the snow.
