Two Different Brake Rotors for '99 Model Year?

I've recently went to an enhanced aftermarket brake system, left my WJ at the shop and they went ahead to get the parts ordered. The mechanic called me back to say the work was going to be late because his parts guy ordered the wrong rotors and calipers. I said that was fine; however, is it possible to have two different parts of the same thing in a single model year, depending on the VIN?

Yes, it is. In mid 2002, Jeep switched from a Teves caliper on the WJ to one made by Akebono. It was because the Teves calipers were causing the front rotors to warp quite rapidy.

Thanks to all of you that replied! I like doing my own work, and now I know which rotor & pad combo to use. For the last decade, I think I went through at least 15 rotors & pads, before noticing, it wasn't my driving nor this wasn't normal on trucks. I have a 3 series BMW that I bought 15 years ago, and replaced the rotor & pads three times. I just thought trucks burn through brakes more often because of the weight that they need to carry to stop.

After switching to some slotted rotors, I hope this solves the problem.
