Definitions for Member Icons?

Most of the member icons are self-explanatory. However some - like "Jeep Specialist" - are not. Is there a web page or thread that explains what the icons mean? More specifically, what is a Jeep Specialist?

Thanks,

Dan.

Rob,

Thanks. Is that because they are experienced end-users? Or do they have some relationship to Chrysler, Jeep, or a Jeep Vendor?

Regards,

Dan.

Re: Definitions for Member Icons?

Milous might be the exception.....but the others are like dealer techs. Working on personal jeep doesn't qualify I don't think.

Scottina is the reference point if you have more specific questions.

Re: Definitions for Member Icons?

Scott,

Thanks. Based on their posts, it's clear that these folks are extremely knowledgeable. I'm not questioning that at all. Nor will I question their quantitative statements. It's their qualitative statements that I'm concerned about...

Right now, I'm gathering as much information as possible to make a good $40,000+ buying decision. To get quality information, I need to evaluate the source. And that means understanding whether the source is an employee of Jeep, Chrysler, or Jeep vendors.

If someone is affiliated with a Jeep-related company, it is completely understandable for them to be positively biased toward their company and to support the marketing goals of the company. But I need to know that to properly evaluate their statements. I.e. I will evaluate their statements with a more critical eye.

OTOH, if their affiliation is not clearly stated, then their statements could be misleading and I would have no way of judging that. And that is a huge problem.

It looks like I will need to assume that all "Jeep Specialists" are Jeep employees.

Regards,

Dan.

Re: Definitions for Member Icons?

your assertions are wrong...we are all Mopar enthusiasts who show another level of specialty above normal members. One is an ase mechanic who works for an independent repair shop, one specialist is in another part of the world and is a genius when it comes to the WJ platform. I am very selective when I give the "specialists" banner out. It goes to members who go above and beyond to HELP members! Milous comes to mind....he has 0 affiliation with ChryCo...but has a wealth of info and experience from his jeep websites...ie. wjjeeps.com, wkjeeps.com, wk2jeeps.com etc.

Scott,

Thanks for the clarification. From your previous post, I took "..pros in their industry" to mean that they were Jeep employees. It helps tremendously to know that they are not.

Regards,

Dan.

Re: Definitions for Member Icons?

I think Scott can likely Vouch for me, I am not employed by or receive any compensation from Chrysler. Anything that I state is based on my experiences with Chrysler Product as well as much of it in non-Chrysler Product.
