That said, I hope that some of the other skins return as this use of darker colors and high contrast is very hard on some of our eyes. I much prefer the more "standard" colors in vBulletin forum implementations. I haven't explored yet, but I'd like to be able to turn off that panel on the right-hand side. It's distracting and since I only visit one forum area, for the most part, unnecessary. I can "de-expand it", but it still takes width away from the actual forum topics.

Jim - You can choose a different viewing option for lighter background. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and look over on the left for a small box with a drop down menu of color choices. Both the dark blue and the crimson have light backgrounds.

Re: Forum updates Thursday 5/9!

Janet, that was the first change I made when I loged in this morning after the forum upgrade. but as you can see from the screen-scrape below, the QR (and advanced compose) windows remain gray. That said, my bigger wish would be for a way to get rid of that new "Recent Posts" column that takes up space... You can see the effect of that on the display in the screen scrape, too. That column compresses the space available for the actual forum thread listing content.

I have to agree with those that don't care for the right column. I'd like to turn that off.

Re: Forum updates Thursday 5/9!

Get rid of the Recent Threads column! It really SUCKS!
If you think it's useful move it to Quick Links. New threads were already available under New Posts.

If you are referring to the "Jeep Platforms", "Jeep tech" etc. I agree. They are very annoying as when you move your mouse across them, on your way up to browser tabs for example, they instantly pop up. Would like to see them gone, or in the least, some sort of delay so they don't pop up instantly.

Re: Forum updates Thursday 5/9!

Not part of the new upgrade as it's been around awhile - but is there any way to get rid of the "Members who have read this thread in the last 90 days" sections? On some pages it consumes a massive amount of room, and I gotta ask, does ANYONE ever look at these?

Takes advantage of the full width of my browser.

That helps!

Add me to the list that doesn't like the recent threads pane on the right.

Patience padawans....the right side column will be removable soon. But I think if you try it....and give us a chance to tweak it...you will like it. Big plans for that column in the future. Baby steps folks.....baby steps!

Re: Forum updates Thursday 5/9!

Nice, but I would suggest making the classifieds section easier to access. Some people may not know how to get there. There isn't a button for it at the top.
