HELP I'm at a dead end.
I Need some help/advice. I Will start by saying I'm new to threads. I purchased a 1995 Jeep wrangler Rio Grande (2.5 L 135000miles) about a year ago. LOVE IT. Had no abnormal problems with it until about 4 weeks ago. Was driving to work and it started to sputter a little. , and quit. Thought it might be some bad gas (water or something). Changed the fuel filter, added some dry gas and some fuel injector cleaner. Couple of days later same problem little worse. Cleaned the air filter (K&N), Replaced the plugs (they were worn) wires, router, and cap. Problem still comes and goes. Then a check engine light came on. Took it to the shop, and the mechanic told me it was a faulty/shorted altinator, but that shouldn't have any thing to do with the Jeep missing. He told me that he lowered the gas tank because the return pressure in the fuel line was to high. (thinking a return line was pinched between the plastic tank and the body) Worked for two days and the problem is back. Don't know where to go next. New altinator? I checked the battery with a load tester, its ok. Put a volt meter on while running, 14.55 volts. All gauges seem to be normal. It runs awesome when its running. could be a day or two then happens again. Well... it runs as good as a 2.5 can lol. Any ideas form anyone??? NEED HELP!
