Re: Jeep ENGINEERS chat session coming to JG.org

X2 good question ... or if they have fixed all the circuit problems with the trans temp sensors that go wrong and display "transmission over temp" on almost all jeeps

Thats awesome. Looks like good ol JG is gettin some serious attention.

To Nate's post above: Wasn't this an option on the new platform? I thought i remember seeing it somewhere in the WK2 section . . . .

Re: Jeep ENGINEERS chat session coming to JG.org

I have a question for them.

This concerns the Drag pack Challengers that offer a special cable-operated throttle linkage and pedal assembly for the 6.1L and the 5.7L.

These engines are the same ones we have in our Jeeps but yet we have to suggest via "drive by wire" that we would like the computer to open the throttle body, and then the computer decides what it is going to do and when.

I would like to know what all is different, why don't they offer it as an option for us and what all it would take for me to do this mod.

I'd much rather tell my engine what to do than suggest to it what I want to do, as it may interpret it incorrectly at a very inopportune time! Say pulling out into traffic and "Oh a wheel spun a bit so lets limit power and dog the engine" which results in an accident.

This question applies to the current WK and the NEW WK2 and the SRT8 of both.

Re: Jeep ENGINEERS chat session coming to JG.org

That's so cool, any word on when yet??

I want to ask about the new V6, it's an interference design so I would like to find out if the independent valve phasing has enough mechanical latitude to cause contact with the exhaust valve in the event of an unintended maximum negative phase delay (caused mechanically, electrically or by software) right when the exhaust stroke is approaching TDC. I know this would be rare but the way electronics and software behave I would like to know if the recipe for desaster is learking in the background.

Re: Jeep ENGINEERS chat session coming to JG.org

Everything is in the finalization steps, i.e. the exact date and time.

As soon as we find out, you'll find out.
