I know ads are important to help support this great forum. Every time I click on a page, I see things, names, flash by in the little box at the bottom of the screen as things load on the screen. Most I can't read, (I can't speed read) but some like something "double click" or "Google" something are programs that select ads to display based on what the viewer is interested in (or supposed to want). The forum page goes ahead and loads and I can start reading before the ads are all loaded.
Recently, anytime I join the forum or change topics within the forum, the screen clears and I get a notice at the bottom "Connected to optimized - by.rubiconproject.com". This sounded neat on a Jeep site. but quickly got old - staring at a blank screen for a minute and a half (second hand on watch) every topic change. Page changes within a topic occurred at regular speed, but I tend to fall asleep if changing topics.
Looked up Rubicon Project and they probably don't even know that a Rubicon is a model of Jeep. They are a growing ad pusher. But is this program working right? Why must the user wait while they do their "optimizing"? The ads don't seem to appear before the forum, but delay anything from happening while they are mining for information. This sure limits the number of time I check the Build Status for updates. I have enough trouble waiting for a Jeep without an added wait for the website.
