Picture resizing

I don't know how hard it is to do but it would be great if the site developers could add an auto picture resizing feature so that pictures that are posted aren't always so HUGE. Couple other forums I'm on regularly have auto resizing and it makes a world of a difference going through threads with pictures. Have a set picture size and anything bigger gets shrunk down.

Re: Picture resizing

scott he means if someone posts a pic here that is huge the thread will auto resize it to a certain size that we agree on to be the maximum... when you copy and paste pics from the internet i dont always save them to my PB account

Re: Picture resizing

haha yeah exactly the "Koniesburg." I can understand resizing images you host on your own through photobucket or flickr but it's a pain in the ass to host every image you post especially if you have a limit on the bandwidth you're allowed to use.

so we (jeepgarage) dont have bandwidth to worry about????

you dont see one ad here.
we dont charge vendors so you members get a better deal.

i have a photobucket account for 3 years. I have at least 1000 pictures there. i have used 15% of my bandwidth.

tell you what, when your photobucket overflows, we'll look into a resizing tool.

deal?

It was just a suggestion no need to get hostile. It only improves the forum by making the threads easier to view with large pictures.

Re: Picture resizing

-my post was not hostile. i asked a few questions. i made a few points. i dont see one hostile word in it.

-having us host ANY pictures causes us bandwidth, thats a fact

-I have IE resize anything automatically for me. Heres how it works:
Automatic Image Resizing is turned on by default. But you can turn it on and off by using the Advanced tab on the Internet Options dialog box.
1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2. Click the Advanced tab, and then scroll down to the Multimedia section.
3. Select or clear the Enable Automatic Image Resizing check box.

and Irf has me thinking you may have meant linking to pics that are not yours that are large, you shouldnt do that either without permission from the host.
