Re: search engine rank

i see our keywords in the meta tag code are

vbulletin,jelsoft,forum,bbs,discussion,bulletin board,jeep,garage,wj,zj,wk,xk,speed,performance,fa st,modifications,street,track,road,lowered,cheroke e,grand cherokee,srt8,srt">

Anyone have some suggestions to add. I think "jeep forum" should be added. I usually type in jeep forum or golf forum when looking on google for a forum on a interest.

wk2 or 2011 jeep grand cherokee would be other good ones.

Re: search engine rank

You can also sort of cheat and take all your meta keywords and give them a seperate CSS style to hide them in the background of the site - so they can't be seen by anyone unless they highlight all the text.

Like this:

< html >
< body >

< put all your keywords here (so they are atop the actual forum >

example:

<spanclass="keywords">Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2, SRT8, blah, blah</span>

< code for forum >

< /body >
< /html >

I do it here for a site I work on...

www.knollsofdover.com

You can highlight text hidden in the top banner if you drag your mouse over it.

I believe it helps out with Google, since it is the first words the bot is hitting when it crawls to the site.

Re: search engine rank

If you go to google, there is a keyword tool you can use. Just enter the address and it comes up with keywords.
Google has since relied much less on meta tags than they do backward links from valid sites. Each site has a ranking of 1 - 100 and link farms are actually ranked in the negative #s. So make sure you don't go to link farms. But a link on Yahoo (NOT PAID) scores very high, showing that your site is very relative to someone searching about something.
The best backward link is the kind that is on a good site and the text of the link ie. "Jeep Info" is actually the link back to your site.
You should add all keywords with forum on here, ie Jeep SRT8 Forum, Jeep WK forum, Jeep WK2 Forum, Latest Jeep news forum, Hemi Jeep Forum, Diesel Jeep Forum and so on.
Hope this helps!
