UI Improvement Suggestion: Page Selector control

This suggestion is to improve paging through a forum or thread using the Page Selector control - that's what I'll call it for now

Near the top right of each forum or thread is this Page Selector control. If a reader is on, for example, page 11 of 27 and wants to page forward or backward, then s/he clicks on either the 12 or the 10. It works just fine. Trouble is, especially for tablet users in the web interface, these numbers are so small and close to each other that it's easy to miss clicking on the small 12 or 10 (continuing the example). Even for laptop / workstation users it can be a little tricky. And when paging through, clicking on the 12, then 13, then 14, etc. can be challenging - one has to reposition the cursor onto these small numbers.

Improvement suggestion:

Can two items be added to this control, one item is < Prev and the other is Next >? With those new items, a trackball user can park the cursor over either of them and just click when the page loads - no need to reposition the cursor onto a small number, and a tablet user has a slightly larger area to tap on.

As an example, that page selector control would be changed, from this:

Page 11 of 27 | First | < | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | > | Last

to this:

Page 11 of 27 | First | < Prev | < | 9 | 10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | > | Next > | Last

Thanks!
