where's my sig and why cant i edit old posts?

Ive been away from the forum for a couple of months and now that im back I cant edit my post in my build thread. It looks like i can edit to new posts however. Also, my sig isnt showing up. Did non-paying members loose the ability to have hyperlinks as signatures? Have there been some changes?

Ok, nevermind the signature issue. Looks like i was experiencing mental difficulties on that one. But is there and age limit to editing old posts?

And why is that? Sometimes you realize a few days later that you made an error in an earlier post and would like to amend it. But can't.

Re: where's my sig and why cant i edit old posts?

...You can just make another post and if at that point you want to notate your editing a specific post you can quote the specific post then post what you wanted to change.

A nice thing about locking things after a specific time is you dont have someone who, after being a member for 2 years and contributing a lot of information to this site, feels the need after an argument with a member or moderator they are just going to delete or edit their contributions, which leaves holes in all the threads, some of their posts being specifically responded to makes it messy, it then just leads to people posting previously answered questions and further clutering up the boards with information that was once there already but is now just a choppy mess.

There is nothing so important that it must be edited, IF there is something, send a message to a moderator or admin and if they agree that your request is worthy of action it will be performed.
