Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

The runaround bro. That is all we are getting. They don't want to put any effort into finding the leak, and chrysler is the same way. Won't do anything until it is found and fixed, but don't want to find and fix it..

The TSB has been pushed back until mid-July, so another week or so...

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

That sucks man, i wish u could bring it to the dealer i go to here in the chicago suburbs. They are nothing but great and keep it until it is fixed (free rentals of course with warranty). And its fixed the first time around too. Try to find different dealers.

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

We have been to two dealers locally. It is not just because it's a bad dealer. Chrysler just doesn't want to admit the problem. So they tell the dealers to stick thier thumbs up you know where. Then blame the dealerships that are not owned by them. Dealers can't fix it, and chrysler won't make someone fix it.

We went to bradshaw jeep in oakville where she bought it. That was our first mistake. We have had so many problems with them. This is not the only issue with this jeep that bradshaw could not fix right the first 5 times....

We then went to modern mazda. They are nice people, but again chrysler does not want to hear that there is a problem and will not authorize a repair or anything.

I don't have the time or money to sue anyone. Nor do I have the time to d*** around with these people. Will this TSB actually force them to do something? Or is it just a....oh yeah some of them are messed up...our bad...so sue us....

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

It sucks you are having so much problems. I have had soooo much warranty work done to my jeep, similar to Joe's old overland (but not that much) and the place i bring it to don't blink an eye. I take it in a lot for small things and some major things i question them to look at. It helps when i have a zero dollar deductible and a maxcare warranty. They just look at whatever i complain about and just put a new part in.

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

Yeah, I just don't know what to do. The thing isn't paid off, and we are basically stuck with something that is going to have major problems. Oh, and btw, there is a noise again coming from the front drivers side wheel well again.....ANOTHER tie rod at only 30k miles? Can't wait to see what they blame this on....

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

Damn that sucks! I'd have lost it by now. I don't know how US law works or varies from state to state, but in the UK there is such a thing as 'merchantable quality' ie if it ain't upto the job, you're entitled to refund/ exchange etc.

I would seriously think about legal action. Personally I'd dump it at their door and cancel the payments with the bank.

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

Yeah, but that won't solve any problems and just make things worse. Dropping a vehicle off and stop paying for it is just going to get us in trouble.

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

True. Just p***es me off when shops treat people like that. I think your best bet is to tell them that unless it's sorted out, you will take legal action. It may be worth waiting on the TSB being announced, but I'd look for compensation too. Taking a vehicle in 15 times for the same thing is unbelievable. In the UK your contract is with the shop that sells you the car, not the manufacturer, so the shop has to sort it out, regardless of who's at fault.

There are lawyers who do free sessions, where you go in with your enquiry and they'll advise you if you have a case (obviously with a view that they fight the case for you).

I wish I knew more on your state laws.

Re: 2007 Jeep Patriot Limited leaks!

Brought it in on Thursday night to modern mazda because of this noise coming from the wheel well...turns out ball joints are shot.......sad. Was told they did not have any and it wouldn't be until monday to get new ones. This jeep is a mistake....whoever put this together must have been smoking crack. First the tie rods where falling off...now the ball joints....leaks in the roof in multiple places...clock spring bad and replaced at least 4 times.....all under 35k miles...
