2009 Jeep Compass A/C issues

OK I have a 2009 Jeep Compass 5 sp, 2.4 ltr, the A/C stopped putting out cold air. The compressor is not engaging, I had the Freon checked and it is within the correct range. So here is what I have done so far

Tested volts going to the A/C transducer I got like 1.7 - 5 volts with engine running and AC on.

Jumped the transducer by disconnecting the electrical connection and jumping and t did not cause the compressor to kick in.

Pulled the connection off the compressor and I have 1.7 volts to the compressor.

I am looking for any help I can get on other things to check, if around 5 volts is correct going into the transducer? how many volts should I have at the compressor? Any tests or recommendations would be of great help. Going to get a buddy to hook up his obd and see if there is a code or if he can engage the a/c through the PCM. Thanks for any help you all can give me.

Re: 2009 Jeep Compass A/C issues

Pull the connector that clutch is wired to use a volt meter it should read 12volts at the female plug with the A/C button on

If you have 12volts at the connector then your clutch coil could be bad.

vice versa if you apply 12 Volts directly to the plug on the Clutch it should engage or not.

There is no sorta engaged it's an ON or OFF system. so when you apply 12volts the Clutch Should Smack in and start pumping if you apply 12 volts and nothing magical happens time for a new a/C compressor
