2014 Compass Transmission Issue

Hey all! I was hoping for some insight! My 2014 Jeep Compass has recently started to slip a lot, especially around the 40 mph range. It does it intermittently, sometimes frequently during a drive, other times hardly at all. The vehicle is still covered under the 5 year/100,000 mile and 8 year/80,000 emissions warranty.

The dealership could not recreate the problem and claimed no codes popped, but there was a transmission control module software update that "may solve the problem". My question is two fold - has anyone else experienced this issue? And, because it is not "required" will the update likely be covered?

Thanks!

Hi RileyKF,

The update your dealership is referring to is probably a TSB, usually if a TSB is for a Power Train component it would be covered under your Power Train warranty. If you decide to revisit your dealership don't hesitate to PM our page with any additional questions or concerns!
