New Jeep stays in lower gear

I just bought a new 2012 Jeep Compass. It seems to stay in low gear.Maybe I did move the gear side ways or something. Also a small picture comes on the instrument panel next the the D indicator.Does this mean it's in another gear? I have never owned anything but a normal transmisson before. This is all new to me.Do you have any ideas what's going on with it staying in low gear??

Re: New Jeep stays in lower gear

You're right! You must have moved the shifter a bit to the left or right. Instead of the fully Auto transmission mode, It's like you're using a manual transmission vechicle. You could go back to auto by moving the stick to the lrft then set it to mid and be sure that what you are seeing is only D in the instrument panel.
