Now that I've singlehandedly ruined how people look at suspension threads on here I figure its time to move on and crap up another area of this here forum:D I have a little all in one powered sub I bought from Wallyworld a few years ago and it's pretty lame so I've been wanting to upgrade. I think it's all of about 37 watts or something.

A while back my nephew decided that 500 watts wasn't enough to change the molecular structure of his car but he figures 1000 watts should liquify his rear window. Anyways I helped him change things around and he says here keep this I don't want that LITTLE thing anymore. Well I can only look at things laying around in my garage so long before doing something with it. What I should have done is climb my ladder into the attic and put it there along with the rest of my stupid ideas:lol: but no it's mod time again. Anyhow here's the amp. It's about a 6year old Alphasonik pmz6002a that puts out 480 watts bridged.

Now the first place I was going to try to mount this was in the CD changer area.I removed the cover and changer since I don't use it anymore but then changed my mind. It was gonna be a hassle to mount there and I didn't want to hack things all up in case I decide to sell someday. No biggie I just put everything back together without the changer and ended up with a nice little covered storage area:thumbsup:

It ended up on the driver side rear seat back and I started wiring.

In the upright position you cant even see the wires leaving the amp from the back. This install is gonna look clean!

You can see where the seat bottom actually sits on the rug. Avoid running any wiring in that area.

Grounded onto the seat bottom latch bracket

Running the remote wire over to the Infinity.

Old sub wiring. Not unhooking this yet cause anyone who has followed any of my threads before knows how long i screw around:sleepy:

Positive heading to the engine compartment.

Now for you audiophile purists that are gonna say "OMG The wire isn't big enough OMG!" I say Monster Cable this:lol::lol:. That's 30 amp wire and I'm gonna be running a 30 amp breaker and I bet it doesn't kick once. AND so far I don't have a dime into this yet and actually found this under the seat so I'm making money:lol::thumbsup:

More later.

OK finally found those damned RCA's.

Really liking how this is looking with the seat up.

Under the seat. Again stay away from that raised area. Put a couple screws in the rug just to keep things from moving around.

Made it to the front. Please God let me just get one more wire through that grommet. That's the last one I promise!

Success! Blaster helps a lot when fishing wires through tight areas.

Across the firewall.

Wiring run to where I need it.

Plug in breaker that I decided against when doing my trailer brake setup. Good enough for the amp though.

Hooked up to the PDC. Love those two studs in there. It's a direct feed from the battery without all the ugliness. Trailer brakes are the red. Amp is white.

Shot for Tony since I was under there.

Wow light comes on.Things are going too smooth.

Now the fun begins.

We are now entering the area I affectionately refer to as the RATS NEST! If my Jeep ever burns to the ground it will have started here. I truly truly hate it in here.

A coat hanger is your friend when trying to navigate "the nest"

Success!

Also had to consult the"Navigating the Nest for Dummies" 2nd edition.

I don't know how but I managed to get that octopus shoved back in there yet again.

Another freebie donation to the project that got dropped off today.

More to come.

SWEET!!!!!!!! Glad to see you're protecting your intake from unwanted pregnancy. We wouldn't want to see your K&N on "16 and pregnant"....

HAHAHHAAHH...that channel should cease to exist. It should be banned for a "Lifetime".
I just don't want my taxes going up because we need to pay for YOUR intake's babies.

Out with the old.

In with the new.

Buttoned up a few details and she's done.

I love how I constantly strive to find ways to make my Jeep LESS dependable. Can't play this baby too long without the engine running:lol:

Big difference in sound. Those old Infinity's really sound good when you take the bass load off of them. This thing has some serious thump. Total cost $0. Just goes to show what you can do with stuff laying around. But then again I have a lot of stuff(aka junk)laying around. Even if you have to buy stuff like this check out flea markets and pawn shops. You can pick up a few year old stuff like this for a song. If you have to be a purist and buy the latest cutting edge stuff then go drop $800. It's your money:D This setup is more than I'll ever need. Probably gonna make my windows leak:(

The end

Great looking install Dave, and its awesome that it call cost you nothing. Other than maybe a little hearing loss and a new battery every month :D.
