Re: Head Unit Replacement

Call Crutchfield and speak to one of their advisors - they'd be glad to walk you through the current options available.

What I am looking for is a head unit that I can integrate with the Infiniti system on my 2003 Grand Cherokee Overland. I want to be able to plug and play, but play everything. I understand that a lot of Head Units can accommodate adapters for Steering Wheel Control, but what kind of outputs do I need for the amplifier under the back seat, and how can you tell whether it has a CD changer control or not. I have been a customer of Crutchfield fro as long as I can remember, but as far as I can tell, the descriptions for the head units they recommend don't say anything about it. Other than the OEM, can anyone make any suggestions?
I'm taking a punt on this..

Re: Head Unit Replacement

The factory Infiniti amp accepts speaker level inputs so you can swap in any aftermarket unit using the proper harness adapter that is available for about $20. You will also need an adapter that will mount a DIN radio in the factory din and a half hole which are anywhere between $7-15. You will also need the proper radio antenna adapter that is another $10 or so. As for steering wheel controls, I have no experience with those interfaces as my Columbia Edition does not have steering wheel controls.

I can swap the factory head for my Alpine unit in less than 10 minutes.
