Matching an aftermarket amp with the Kicker / Mopar speakers from an 05 - 10' GC

I have an 02' Grand Cherokee Overland with the Infininty system and have a few blown speakers. I just bought the dash, front & rear door speakers that Kicker made for the 05' - 10' GCs (and other Jeeps).

I'm told that the amp from Kicker is not a fit for the 02' and it's wiring. Something about a PCI bus in my 02' vs. a CAN bus in the 05' and up. So, I did not buy that Kicker amp.

I don't know how to "match" amps with speakers and their ohms or whatever it is I'm supposed to pay attention to. I do understand about not over powering a speaker and it's wattage. Can somone lend me some guidance who knows the Kicker speakers I bought?

Thanks.

just use the infinity amp with the kicker speakers and CANbus is just the way the deck communicates with the amp its digital vs analog pci bus

You need to find an amp that is 2 ohm stable in its specs. You can do a little research online. Most decent amp manufacturers advertise their spec sheets.

Not to bring up an old thread but after reading this and another thread, I had to the research myself bc it was a little confusing as no one corrected this. The wj has a 4 ohm system, so the wk 2 ohm speakers will not last long, or the factory infinity amp, not sure which would give out first. So to use the wk kicker upgrades you would have to replace the factory infinity amp with a 2 ohm stable amp...
