My Double Din Install...

Hey guys, just joined the site. Pretty big audio guy and even though i told myself im not spending a ton of money on audio for the jeep, id like to show my work. I really hate the looks of single din units with the dash kits so im gonna pick up a JVC KW-R500 double din unit and make fit. Im pretty car audio savvy so it shouldent be a problem for me. Ordered some 3m Carbon Fiber vinyl for the finished product.

To be continued....

Slow progress. Test fit didn't come out well with the head unit mounted. The angle of the HU doesn't allow it to line up with bezel. Might have to mount HU to bezel and install that way. Yet don't know if that will be secure enough.

Got the head unit mounted and angled perfectly. Now I just need to make the bezel look as good as possible.

Does that 3M carbon fiber hide imperfections very well?

Kinda finished. The top bezel came out like crap so I will be trying again. The bezel itself just doesn't fit right. My fault for not checking while working. I think I'm just gonna use this temp until I get cash to order one of those made to fit ones.
