RB3 Radio in WJ ?

Is it possible to fit the rb3 radio sat nav unit in a year 2000 WJ.Is there a converter for the connector looks as if it will physically fit in dash without any mods.

Re: RB3 Radio in WJ ?

From what I hear the answer is yes but you may need a harness adapter. I wanna say the '99 to '01 was an 8 pin and '02 to '04 is 10 pin. They do make an adapter for it. Check WJJeeps to get the part numbers.

RB3 and RB4 are the same except the 3 is the European version.

Thanks Dave mine has the twin connectors ,Am I right in thinking the actual unit is the same so far as facia is concerned so no need to cut dash trim etc.

Re: RB3 Radio in WJ ?

Hello there,

You can install the RB-3 headunit in any WJ jeep. Physically it is plug and play, connect wise it is different though.

You'll need to buy a adapter to convert your two inputs into one, google or ebay it. On top of that you'll need a 10-pin CD changer cable, which you'd be able to pick up from a dealer.

wjjeeps.com covers the instructions on removing and reinstalling all the interior trim pieces for the install and placement of GPS antenna (behind instrument cluster IIRC).
