Ok, I know it has been asked a thousand times! So, have done my research and I am opting for JL Audio C2's Front C2-350x 3.5 inch (dash), c2 690tx 6x9 inch front doors and already have c2 650tx rear's. What do you think? I saw someone has Polk 6x9's in the front and have used their measurements for the C2-690tx's (same mounting depth). Oh and the C2-350x will take a little persuading! I'm in the same boat Jason. I've been wondering if just replacing the speakers would be enough of an upgrade versus adding an amp as well. Any reason why you're not adding an amp?
I have ordered the speakers from the US and will see if they make enough of a difference? The AMP is a little more tricky from what I can see (I like to keep the car as OEM as I can), no one made an ungrade for the WJ (Shame!)
I understand. I'm actually in a WK2 so there are a few more options but yes I'd like to keep it as OEM as possible. Keep us updated on how it sounds. Interested to see how yours turns out. I'll more than likely take the path of only replacing the speakers as well. Take some pics if you can as well. Different GC's but still informative just the same.
Yeah! I like to keep the Jeep as OEM/Factory as I can, but I think I will have to at some point look at changing it! I wish Mopar/someone had made a straight swap?
I like the factory look too. Plus people are much less likely to mess with the vehicle if they see a factory system.
As for speakers, those are easy enough to hide behind the factory interior pieces. If you could, please take a pic of the JL 3" speakers next to the factory 2.75" pieces.

hmmmm. Watching thread closely for review on stock Alpine amp. wanting to replace mine after the winter. Interested to see.how well they sound on stock amp. do a walkththrough with pics.
do the fronts include tweeter replacement for the upper door?
OK, speakers are in. 6x9's in the front (straight in no problems with clearance), Rear doors (C2 6.5's) just needed new holes drilling to fix. The dash (C2 3.5's) just need a bit of cutting.
All in all, sound is better but the JL's need a better amp to drive them to there full potential!
I wondered if you were going to dump the factory amp after the upgrade. Somewhere I read that the front frequencies are split between the doors and dash with the dash getting mids/highs - I believe it was here: Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ - Upgrading the factory sound system
