Re: Stereo acting funky, rears fine - fronts all static

I am trying to find out if I can use the Kicker amp that comes out of 05' Grand Cherokees. Much more power and it appears to have the same exact wiring connectors. All I'd need now are 6 new speakers...

It's worth a shot. Someone around here would probably know whether or not that would work. Not sure what you're saying about the connectors, but I just clipped mine off when I put in my new speakers haha

The front 2.5" speakers have a plastic connector; 1 1/4" rectangular shaped. I can't figure out how to disengage so as to take the speaker out and inspect. I guess if getting new ones it won't matter. Hey, how do you figure out which wire is "+" and which is "-"?

Oh okay, I just left the tweeters in the dash. I did remove them once though and don't remember it being an issue to remove the connector. And at which point are you trying to figure out the + and - ? at the speakers or at the amp?

Trying to figure pos & neg at speakers. If I get new/different ones, they ain't gonna have the same adapter; Ooooooh, but, I can just look at the old speaker and see what color wire goes where... DUH. Disregard. :-)

I saw somewhere that there was a recall for the stock systems for this same static issues. I think it was only good for vehicles still under warranty.
