Stereo Space Question

Question for anyone who's installed an aftermarket stereo.

I'd like to install this:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-H1gzgNR...H-P8400BH.html

But Crutchfield says it doesn't fit in a 2003 Laredo. I chatted with them, and here's the reason it doesn't fit:

"Its a depth issue. You have 6.79" of clearance and the Pioneer is 7.035". If you keep the wiring very tidy it maybe possible to squeeze it in."

They also said that they measure it with cables included. I'll just be using the regular speakers, so I won't be using the RCA jacks (which I think would be the fattest cable).

Any thoughts on if I might have room?

Re: Stereo Space Question

I don't know if Crutchfield says no I'd listen to them. They really know their sh@t when it comes to these things. You have to remember that there is the harness adapter to deal with, probably a ton of RCA dongles, antenna adapter, etc all to get shoved in there and trust me there is very little room even on a head unit they say fits.
