No need for that box Mike. This is all you need http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207065...s.html?tp=2977 only thing I added was an interface so the head unit would work with my steering wheel controls http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120ASWC...C.html?tp=3405

Re: to those with factory infinity system and a aftermarket head unit..

Thanks Dave.
I was actually looking on crutchfield for a radio and found one i like, but that wiring harness is for the 2002+ GC..
And for $70 keeping my steering wheels controls isnt a need for me lol. the radio i like has a remote anyway..

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_105KDHD...0.html?tp=5684

thats the one i like, and it comes with the installation gear so it should work right?
Thanks again Dave, much appreciated

Re: to those with factory infinity system and a aftermarket head unit..

if you think you cant afford a flip up dvd, check out vminnovations on ebay. I got my jensesn VM9312HD new a year and a half ago for 250 factory warrantied and all. its a little cheaper now, and they have cheaper models, havent had a problem with it, but it doesnt have the remote output for steering wheel controls.

Re: to those with factory infinity system and a aftermarket head unit..

Is there another adapter needed for the factory amp to work? I have an 02 with the Infinity system and hooked up the 22 pin adapter between the stock cable and the new head unit but I'm getting no sound out of the speakers. All my crimps are good, just no sound......

Re: to those with factory infinity system and a aftermarket head unit..

Its been 2 years since I did mine, so im foggy. Im 99 percent sure, because I did the same thing. The factory side of the harnesses power antennae wire should be hooked to the amp turn on wire of the head units harness. I dont believe you have a power antennae, so give it a try. If for some reason I am wrong....give crutchfields support line a call.
