One final question:

I have my "Free" SRT Track Experience to use. What track (collective opinion of all of you) would be the best/most fun track to do this? (Close to the mid-west anyway)

Thanks again guys for the info and the ride!!!

A quick survey of the room suggests either Virginia International Raceway or Road Atlanta if you're up for the drive.

Re: May 16, 2012 SRT Engineers chat session

Welcome SRT8 Engineers and Thanks for your time.

I own a 2012 Jeep SRT8 and overall I am satisfied so far with over 11,000 miles on it.

1)I had a TSB performed on my vehicle regarding the rear clunking noise heard while driving over speed bumps or slow speed small inclines, etc. The reflash of the on-board computer helped reduce this a bit but has not been eliminated entirely. Is MOPAR looking into this more?

2)I also would like to know if the carbon fiber trim piece along the front passenger side dash panel that has warped with heat has been redesigned or retooled to prevent this from happening again on future replacements?

I'd like to add that on my recent oil change, my local dealership had the correct "new" Pennzoil Ultra full synthetic 0w-40 oil in the 5 gallon black container. So if anyone is concerned, it is available now.

Mongoose9400 is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: May 16, 2012 SRT Engineers chat session

Why does the WK2 SRT have the LED strip DRLs and the halogen DRLs in the headlight housing? Why not just the LED strips only? What's the easiest way to put color matching LEDs in place of the halogen bulbs? Can the halogen DRL bulbs be disabled otherwise if LED replacements can't work in place of the halogen?

We didn't want a build a headlamp with a bulb that didn't function. The LED is the DRL. The headlamp inner bulb is turned on in the Park position or with headlamp on and has no legal requirements.

1) We are in the process of developing a SERVICE ONLY suspension module reprogram to address the clunk. Please stay tuned.

2) There was a bonding issue between the carbon material and underlayment material on the dash trim over the glovebox. The bonding material has been revised and proven.

Thankyou for your questions everybody. Let's have more for next time! Drive Hard!

Ok, now to the vehicle specs:
Wheels - one-off custom made 20x11 light weight wheels
Tires - Pirelli PZERO 305/35R20
Exhaust - cat-back system supplied by Corsa Performance

The entire powertrain and driveline was stock.

We reduced the weight by removing interior components (rear seats, carpet, insulations, trim panels). We also installed a roll bar and a 6-point race harness.
I know it's a tad late, but if one of you guys is reading this, care to mention what the offset/backspacing of the wheel you guys are using is? I would never have dared to put an 11" wheel on my car, but if there's a fitment that works, this is great to know!
