folks, a million thanks to all! The Jeep is alive and well.
I had pulled a bunch of fuses and relays related to fuel earlier in the week and they all checked out. I did replace the battery earlier in the week but did not check any electrical system fuses. Decided before I head out to get a key programmed, lets pull every single fuse under the hood and be sure. Well, the culprit was a blown PCM fuse. I swapped it with the AC clutch fuse and she fired right up.
I now need to go out and grab a 10amp fuse for this as the AC clutch fuse is 15amps. Pennies to fix this problem. Signs were pointing to issues with key recognition, the fuse was the problem why. Good to know if anyone else ever has similar issues with sentry key to check PCM fuses.
Not sure how it shorted out, possibly when I installed the new battery but happy to be back in business.
Funny, a few hours ago my neighbours landscaper came over to see what was going on as he was actually interested in maybe buying the truck for his son as he has owned many jeeps in the past and really likes the WJ models. I told him take it away as is $3500 no questions asked. He said he would but couldnt reach his son to come have a look first. Told him if I get it running price goes up to $4500 so be quick. Oh well, hope he's still interested
