I've flushed it, bleed it, replaced thermostat and still overheats, is there something in the fan i'm missing?

Re: 1999 4.7 overheating

Some more details would help. When does it overheat, only when standing still, or also when driving? I think that your model year doesn´t have the hydraulic cooling fan yet, right?

Idk if you remember while back my hydro fan wouldn't work for daily driving. I repaired the ac and now fan works for the ac side but engine heat no. Its a *=¥÷¥#)!&$^×€729$^! System

That the fans works well when using AC, means that the fan assy itself is not the culprit. The PCM should give a signal to the fan control solenoid to ramp up, depending on input from the coolant temp sensor.

So the fan is working ok. Did you change the coolant sensor?

Re: 1999 4.7 overheating

Does your engine really overheat? If you have an infrared temp gun or just a normal thermometer (with the right range), you could compare it with the indicated temp on the instrument panel. Are you also sure that the fan is not going faster when the temperature increases? It will not go to full speed when the temperature is not that high yet, but will slowly ramp up the fan speed until the temperature goes down.

Re: 1999 4.7 overheating

I can go thru a drive thru and it reaches 230 on my stand alone gauge. The dash needle is over the 210 mark. I turn on ac and the fan goes full blast. If i do not and drive it down road it stay 225/230. Untill i shut down and open hood to cool

Re: 1999 4.7 overheating

So how far does the dash needle go over the 210 mark? If the other instrument shows 230, while on the dash a bit over 210, then i would start changing the temp sensor. When the PCM only sees a bit over 210, it maybe speeds the fan up a little bit, but not much.

Re: 1999 4.7 overheating

I will replace with a oem Chrysler one.
I noticed my external/standalone temp gauges read about 20/25* difference between the dash temp needle
