Re: 1999 electrical issues....batt draw

Welcome to the garage and a happy new year.
So what did you do sofar that you came to the conclusion that the problem is probably the cluster? How much current draw is there after all modules are sleeping? Some will take quite some time before they go to sleep (like BCM around 20 minutes), so you will need to take that into account as well. As soon as you open a door, or close it, the BCM will wake up and draw more current.

Re: 1999 electrical issues....batt draw

#8 fuse is for the interior lights, #7 is for the SKIM, BCM and AZC.
The interior lights are switched via the BCM, so there is something going on which is telling the BCM to do so. Are all other electrical systems working normally? (power windows, power locks etc)
Regarding the 45 seconds mark, that is, when im not wrong, the time the accessory delay relay should relax.
Either way, you probably will need to take out fuse by fuse and check if the drain stops.

Re: 1999 electrical issues....batt draw

#17 on the junction block is indeed for the instrument cluster direct feed. This one has power as long as the battery is connected. So if you pull this fuse, the power drain after 45 seconds stops?
When im not wrong, the accessory delay relay will be held in for 45 seconds after power off. It is used for the sunroof. Just to rule this out as the problem, will it make any difference when you pull fuse #25 on the junction block?
I also would disconnect the instrument cluster and see if the drain will stop.

Re: 1999 electrical issues....batt draw

So did you already disconnect the instrument cluster connector and leave the #17 fuse in place? If the drain then doesnt occur, you are sure that the cluster is causing the drain. Still quite some drain for the cluster only, it being just some low amps electronics and instruments. Also strange that the drain only starts after 45 seconds, while #17 fuse is a constant feed to the instrument panel.

The standard jeep alarm is part of the BCM.
Does the drain stop when fuse #17 is out, as what i understood before?
