Hi, they were working, but the interior lights were turn to the on position for a couple of days, and I got some help with that from (harkinsc, thanks) then I turn it off and then some functions just stopped working:: The door open, key chime stopped working, opening door interior lights stop coming on, they don't come on when I start the engine either, (they will come on when I Turn the Knob switch to on), air conditioning will not come on. Could be more things. Could I have did this? or is some kind of controler blown? A fuse control all these functions? Love my Jeep, but were not talking to each other today!

I would first check all fuses to see if one (or more) is (are) not blown.
Many of the functions you mentioned are controlled by the BCM, so could be that a fuse of the BCM is blown. The airconditioning however has nothing to do with the BCM. Was the airco ok before this problem started?
Did you jump start the jeep by the way?

Thanks Frank, I will check for those fuses Friday morning, (10:15 PM now). The Air Con. worked fine, I did recharge my battery that morning as the battery had gone dead, that I thought might have been related to the interior lights switch being turn to the on position. that was put into the off position, (later I noticed that the new problems had started), but the next day the battery was dead. I did take the neg. off the Battery a couple times, hoping it would reset things right.. I will try looking for a fuse for the "BMC" thanks for pointing me toward a couple ideas to check. Ron

I´m pretty sure that the BCM (Body Control module) should switch off the interior lights after a certain period of time, independent on the switch stack position.
There is an accessory delay relay on the junction block ( the fuse block under the steering wheel), which could be fried in the closed position, which could cause the battery to drain rapidly.
The fuses feeding power to the BCM are: fuse 7, fuse 22, fuse 25 and fuse 28, all situated on the junction block itself.
Didn´t understand your previous answer, did the battery went dead for a second time after switching the interior lights switch to off?
Finally it could be the BCM itself, but that would be my last try.

Thanks for taking to time to reply Frank, I'm going out to check the Fuses, will update my progress. The Battery only died that one time, (so far) and it's good this morning. Everything that I posted before is still the same, so I'm checking now.

Achim, the Battery is new about 2 months old.

Hello all. I know this is an old thread but it fixed my problem so I thought I would revive it. I have a 99 Grand Cherokee that I just bought cheap. Keyless entry worked but interior lights would only turn on if the ignition was on. Even by using the switch. None of the other body functions (lights on lock/unlock, horn on lock, door unlock when opening driver door etc.) worked. I found this thread and saw the advice from Frango100 about the fuses. Gave it a try. All of the fuses were good except fuse #7. It was blown. Replaced it and everything works perfect. Super happy. Thanks Frango. Just thought I would post to let everyone know what worked for me.
