Unhappy 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo... Intermittent fuel / electrical problems.

I'm having issues with my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 I6 4WD 210,328 miles... Long story short.

·Bought Jeep in April 2013 - MIL codes P0301, P0305, P0306 - Replaced spark plugs/ reset codes/ it ran great.
·July 2013 - Driving 55-60 MPH and complete loss of power. Lights/radio were still on. No codes. Restarted Jeep and ran fine.
·September 2013 - Same as above.
·October 2013 - MIL came on codes P0320, P0306, P0456- Got it home and next day codes were gone.
·January 2014 - Hard start - Tested battery and starter. Both good.
·June 2014 - Started acting like water in tank - Put in cleaner to remove water and added fresh gas.
·July 2014 - Started acting up again - MIL came on P0301, P0171, P0174 - Changed spark plug #1, Cleaned all injectors (replaced #1), checked wires on fuel rail, replaced fuel filter, replaced gas cap.

It's still acting up. Its intermittent so Jeep is not very reliable right now. It will drive fine but loses power or acts like it's not getting enough gas. Its worse on hills or curves. Sometimes I can let off the pedal and after it drops gear I can resume driving. Other times I have to pull over and wait 5-10 mins and restart it. Replaced the Ignition Coil Rail Assembly last week and P0301 went away. Still have P0171 and P0174 but they come and go with the times it's messing up.

My 1 hour drive to work now takes me 1.5-2 hours. Any help would be appreciated. I know enough about vehicles to get by but this is even stumping my dad and uncle who are both really good at fixing vehicles. This is getting really aggravating since I never know when it wants to mess up.

Re: 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo... Intermittent fuel / electrical problems.

The P0171 and P0174 show that the fuel mixture is lean. Its probably that lean that it causes misfires and gives you the P030-(- = cylinder number)
This can be caused by an intake leak. Do you have a scanner which can show live data? (Or an android phone with torque app and bluetooth dongle)
Then you could check the fuel trim figures. They probably be in the double digits negative, which means that the PCM is subtracting fuel from the normal fuel schedule, until a point that the mixture is so lean that it will not burn well and you get a P030- fault.
A low fuel pressure could also cause this problem, which would be my second item to check (should be around the 48 PSI)
Eventually a faulty MAP could be the problem
