Went to replace the Cam sensor on my 2001 Jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7 V8 Quadradrive, first off I disconnected the battery wrong & arched it off & burnt my hand, replaced sensor, now I have no gauges & will crank, but not start, I ran codes, no codes are coming up. Re: 2001 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7 V8 Quadradrive, No gauges, no start

Welcome to the garage.
How did you disconnect the battery wrong?
Either way, i would start checking the fuses for the PCM, since it seems that the PCM is dead (no gauges and no start).
Fuses #6, #19 and #26 in the PDC under the hood and fuse #12 on the junction block under the steering wheel area.
Did you check for fault codes using a scanner or the key dance? When you used the key dance, did it show "DONE"?
For which reason did you change the cam sensor? Did you use a Mopar part?

I disconnected the hot side last the battery last, arched it off & burnt the palm of my hand, Cam sensor was coming up on code reader, not the 1st time, replaced cam & crank sensor 6 months ago. Now no codes are coming up at all. Just have no guages & won't start, cranks, but no start. Used scanner, no auto zone parts, not Mopar, had guages before I replaced, intermittent starting before replacing also

Re: 2001 jeep grand cherokee limited 4.7 V8 Quadradrive, No gauges, no start

Still don´t understand how the arching occured. Did the wrench to loosen the terminal nut touch ground?
So did you check the fuses first? The fuel and volt gauge receive their signal from the PCM, so it seems that the PCM is not powered. Was the scanner able to make contact with the PCM?
If the fuses are ok, then remove the connector of the cam sensor and check if the gauges return to normal indication. Can be a faulty (internally shorted) cam sensor. Also the arching didn´t damage any wiring?

Fuses are good, haven't found any damaged wiring, yes scanner connected with the PCM, no codes are showing. I don't remember touching a ground, I was prying the cable up with the wrench & next thing I know shot a spark in the palm of my hand, I have a small burn on the palm of my hand. I'm going to check the sensor, have a feeling that's what it is, can't believe I fried the PCM
