I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 Limited and the ac clutch wont engage there is pressure in the system. I jumped out the pressure switch but when i do that it wont start. I put 12v to the clutch it does not kick in and when i press the ac button i get no power to the clutch I have been messing with this thing for weeks what could it be? even if the clutch is bad why am i getting no power to the clutch? i checked all fuses and the relay does not pull in ether.

On the road now, so not able to check the wiring schematics, but did you swap the clutch relay already with a known good relay?

Yes i did I had a extra relay so i cut it open to see if it was pulling in its not even when i push it in i have nothing
So not getting power to the clutch but I put 12v directly to it shouldn't it of kicked in?

Re: 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 Limited Ac issues

Did you check both fuse 21 in the PDC under the hood and fuse 21 on the junction block?
With 12V applied directly on the clutch, it should apply. Iīve never tried to see how good you can feel the AC clutch when it applies. Did you try this with the engine running, to see if it works or not?

Both fuses are good and yes i tried putting 12v to it while running didn't work so i think the clutch is bad but still doesn't explain why i get no power to the ac plug. Guess i will try to change the clutch first.

Re: 2002 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 Limited Ac issues

Yes, seems that the clutch is fried at least. You can change it separately from the compressor and donīt have to remove the compressor from its place.
Now you will have to start measuring to see where the voltage signal is not passing. I will send you a wiring schematic lateron.
