Just did a brake job on JGC. All went well & it stops on a dime. Here is the real issue... After the brake job, i took the car for a test drive & would speed up & brake t to test & adjust the brakes. No issues. Took the JGC on a "maiden voyage" out last night & when I would hit the brakes, go over a medium sized bump or turn to the right too fast, it would make a grinding/whining/rubbing sound from right under my feet in the driver's area. I thought that something came loose from my brake job.

Today I took everything apart & verified all was working properly. Everything look normal & saw no damage or unusual wear marks as if something was "rubbing". Spoke to a friend of mine who is VERY knowledgeable about cars & he suggested that I remove the from prop shaft & see if it did it again. NOISE WAS GONE!! driving my jeep as a 2wd now & looking for new front prop shaft parts/assemblies. Does any one know of a good place to get these parts?? Stealer wants $850 to 1000.00 for a new front prop shaft. aftermarket wants 554.00 for a rebuilt unit. Is that a good price? Still too high? Wouldn't the actual gringing noise come from the front diff?? Looking ofr suggestions...

I would check the front diff fluid first for any metal signs. Don't know which setup for the front propeller shaft you have, CV joints or U-joints, but do you feel any play in the joint? Are the boots ok (for CV joint)?
Strange that this noise now suddenly appeared after the brake job. Do you have this Jeep for a while already or you just bought it?
www.rockauto.com is the place where i buy my Jeep parts. For original MOPAR parts you could use www.justforjeeps.com.
