4.7v8 Interference engine definition

In the 4.7v8 I understand that the valves open up far enough to engage the piston head if out of time. I have read that it is only the INTAKE valves that open that far - true???
If it is only intakes, then the next question is - looking from the front of the engine at the camshaft, what is the intake/exhaust arrangement?

Re: 4.7v8 Interference engine definition

When im not wrong are the exhaust valves on the side of the exhaust manifold and the inlet valves at the side of the inlet manifold. And yes, it seems to be only the inlet valves which bend.
