Re: 45RFE to 545RFE flash question

I run a Sonnax LB2 line pressure booster with my Trans Go HD2. Works great, install was super easy. I plan on doing the reflash to a 545RFE soon, since my plan is to go with 4.56's, the 5th gear will keep rev's on the highway down a bunch.

Re: 45RFE to 545RFE flash question

Hello. Long time lurker first time poster here. I have been looking into doing the re-flash on my 1999 WJ limited. I drive a lot of highway miles and I think it would help me out on gas with the lower RPMs at highway speed.

I called the stealership and gave them the last 8 of my vin. They told me that my jeep had the PCM flashed in 2006 (prior to me owning it). I got the feeling from the phone call that the service person and I weren't talking about the same thing.

I have counted the shifts and I don't feel 5 when I'm crusing in OD and my RPMs are about 2000 at 60 mph. I have read that it should be closer to 70 mph at 2000 RPM with the re-flash to 545rfe.

Can someone check my vin and tell me if it shows completed?

Re: 45RFE to 545RFE flash question

I ended up going in to the dealership and showing them the TSB I was talking about for the TCM re-flash. After some searching (and some help from the tranny tech) they found it. I now have the 545RFE and it is great on the highway.

So a 2002 would have the flash from the factory ?

Re: 45RFE to 545RFE flash question

Mine does 80kmph (50mph) @ 1500 rpm so I guess that's been done.
Be crazy if it hasn't

Sounds right. I've actually seen some conflicting information on whether the 545 programming came factory starting in 2001 or 2002.
