Re: 4X4 control computer

ELSDs were not on WJs, they were on the WKs.

The WJ did have Quadra-drive (Varilok axles) http://www.wjjeeps.com/tcases.htm

Re: 4X4 control computer

The 4x4 system in the WJ's is all mechanical, no electronic parts. There is nothing you can change. Since you mention 2 wheel drive I am guessing you have selec-trac with the trac-lok rear axle, the locking axle should engage independent of your 2 or 4 wheel selection on the transfer case.

Re: 4X4 control computer

The trac-lok or vari-lok inside the diffs is a mechanical device which will lock the diff in case of a certain speed difference of the 2 wheels on the same axle. Because you already create a speed difference when making a turn (inner wheel travels less distance thus rotates slower then outer wheel), these diffs need the limited slip additive in the fluid to allow a certain speed difference. Otherwise one of the wheels will slip.
