Chances are a vacuum line has fallen off or developed a leak. Open the hood and look along the drivers side of the engine bay. Might be really easy to spot a hose that has fallen off or a cracked line. Find and fix the leak and my guess is your system will be working just fine once again.

Re: A/C and heat only will go out through defroster..

Joe is right, the manual airco/heat system is using vacuum to control some of the doors. The mode door in this case is vacuum controlled and is fail safe to defrost position, so most probably the vacuum line is loose/broken/shaved.

Re: A/C and heat only will go out through defroster..

The vacuum line should start on the LH side of the engine inlet manifold.
When you really can't find the line, you could remove the airco/heat control panel and remove the black line from the mode switch. This is the supply line of vacuum to the switch. If vacuum is available, the problem is then not under the hood, but probably with the mode door actuator, switch or line in the dash.

Re: A/C and heat only will go out through defroster..

When saying on the LH side, then it is when looking from the drivers position. So when in front of the car it is ofcourse on the RH side.
