Access to fuel level sensor.
Re: 2002 UK registered Grand Cherokee WG 2.7 CRD
I suspect that my PCI drop-out problems may possibly relate to the fuel level sensor or a dodgy connection to same. Reason I suspect this, just prior to the system dropping out the fuel gauge gives an incorrect reading, about a quarter of a tank lower than I know it should be.
Could somebody tell me please how I can get access to the fuel level sensor, which I assume is fitted to the top of the fuel tank. I've had the spare wheel and jack out of the recess in the boot (trunk) but there are no visible removable panels. There are 2 panels that seem to be fitted with adhesive, not screws. It almost begins to look like a classic manufacturer's instruction "Remove front and rear axles, engine and transmission, raise bodywork from chassis to gain access to top of fuel tank....." you know the sort of thing.
Can anyone point me along the right route please?
Thanks in advance.
