Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

While I was taking my TB off my 4.0 WJ this past weekend I was removing the cable clips from the sensors and I broke the plastic retainer on the one the arrow is pointing to. I have been searching the internet but haven't figured out what it's called or what a part number is. I am ordering new CCVs on RockAuto and would like to lump this into that shipping. Anyone know what it is called or what the P/N is?

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

If your talking about that red safety tab that slides across to lock the plug on you may have to go to a mopar dealer for that. Not sure what the real name is but I doubt Rock Auto would have that. You can run without it but just check the plug once in a while.

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

You nailed it CheapJeep. I used a little too much muscle on that red tab and it went flying. What would you call it? TPS Wire Connection?

The goof at the dealership parts desk will just stare at me and mouth-breathe if I show them a picture of one of their parts and ask what it is called.

I would say red lock tab thing They are on just about every plug not just that one. Talk to a service guy I guarantee he has broken 1 or 2.

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

Those connector locking tabs are quite fragile and due to the high heat they have to withstand close to the engine, they become brittle as well and break easily. I have one broken on one of the fuel injectors. The locking tab is in fact a secundary safety that the connector will not detach, but the primary lock function of the connector should keep it in place anyway.
I īm still interrested to know though if those locking tabs can be bought seperately from the connector, or only as an assy.

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

I'll let you know if the dealership can figure it out. I'm not convinced about my connector staying tight... it slides off fairly easy. Then again, it's been 5 days and it's still on!

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

If the connector will not latch in place without the red locking tab, then there is something wrong with the connector. Because with the red locking tab, you only lock the latch, so that it canīt be pushed in and unlatch.

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

It's not going anywhere dude...you'll be fine without the locking tab. All those connections click into place. Like Frango said, the red locking tab is a secondary measure. I don't know about anyone else here, but I've NEVER had an issue with connections staying tight with or without those PITA locks. The dealer will likely tell you that the tab is part of the harness and they don't sell them seperately. The only other thing I might suggest is a trip to a junkyard.

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

half of my fuel injectors have the tab broken off. they stay put fine. the connector for the coil pack however, thats busted bigger than shit. still slides on tight. theres NO latch on that AT ALL. so you should be A-OK without that red lock tab.

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

May be a dumb question...but would a wrap or two with electrical tape around the plastic be alright for my piece of mind or does it get too hot there?

Re: Anyone know the PN/Name of this part?

dont waste your time the tape wont do anything except come loose leaving behind all its adhesive, createing a place for dirt to collect and end up burning up on your exaust manifold for you to smell for 100 miles
