Auto case engaged when in park mode

Hi!

Recently noticed from time to time that when I park and put the gear shifter i P, I can feel some movement of the car if I leave the engine running - as if it's not fully disconnected.

Someone experienced similar problems? Seems I can put it into R or D and back to P, and then the problem "goes away".

Also, I think it's a bit harsh when shifting from P to R, or from R to D and opposite. My idle is around 6-700 rpm, so that's not the problem. It's anything but smooth in these low-speed manouvering conditions. In higher speeds it is fine.

Thankful for any thoughts about this - my dealer/mechanic says that the vehicle is in good condition, but this maybe because I'm still under their warranty.

Re: Auto case engaged when in park mode

It can be that the gear shift cable needs some adjustment. Not sure though what exactly you are feeling when you put the gear lever in P. But if it looks like the transmission is not completely disengaged, its probably the gear shift cable adjustment.
