automatic climate control

having a problem with the blower fan not working. Question is, Is there a way to test the auto climate controller? display lights up and you can move the temp up and down, but don't hear anything else.

Re: automatic climate control

The test procedure is mentioned overhere (and a lot of other WJ info): Jeep Grand Cherokee WK - Climate controls
But most probably the blower motor controller is bad. The blend door actuators are making a very low volume noise, you hear them (or better said the doors) when they are at the end of the travel.

Re: automatic climate control

Many times the problem is with the connector on the controller. It can make bad contact and because of that heats up and melt the connector. There is a repair wire kit available from mopar, if you would go that way, take care that the right wires are connected to each other. Seems that the order of the wires in the connector are different and you would end up with a counter rotating fan and almost no air. You could also solder the wires direct onto the circuit board of the controller. Ypahihi did a wrteup on this.

Thumbs up Re: automatic climate control

I reviewed the posting from the other member, very helpful. Bought the mopar repair kit but will most likely solder the wires to the module. Thanks for all your help, (you were helping before I joined the community).

Re: automatic climate control

Thanks for the info. It was the module! Got everything from the dealer and so far everything is working as it should.
