Re: azc has no heat

Probably best to remove the glove box and the drivers blend door actuator to see if the blend door can be moved by hand. It seems that many times a plastic stop will break off. But would be strange though if both blend doors and the recirculation door have the same problem suddenly.

Re: azc has no heat

yea stopped at a mechanic friends shop today and asked about the issues, he said real common, pain in the A but not rocket science. I can get to the doors to move by hand and feel if floppy, if floppy then yea, busted... but he said since i hear movement, the actuators are still good, just not moving the doors...

Re: azc has no heat

what? Are your doors floppy? If the doors are good and the actuator isnt moving the doors then how is the actuator still good? I know it's early in the morn but I read that 3 times and am still not sure what you said. lol My coffee is ready soon, I'll tray again after a few sips but I'm not sure what you are trying to say there exactly....

*Edit*

Caffeine works miracles. I get it, you have check your doors - if floppy they are broken. cause you can hear movement its not the actuator. Gotcha. sorry bout that.

Re: azc has no heat

Here's what I did for a temporary fix for the winter:

I dropped the glove box and removed (unscrewed and disconnected) the blower motor. I cut a small inspection hole by where the door is. Then, I propped up the door and drilled a long screw above the hole so that the door rests on the nail, leaving the heat position permanently open. It's not ideal since I don't have any cooling, but whenever I decide to either swap out a new door or decide I need cooling, I'll just drop the glove box and remove the screw. Either way, I think heating is more important than cooling. Whenever I'm warm, I can just open my windows and drive fast. When I'm cool, I can't do anything about it.

This is probably the cheapest fix you'll find.

Re: azc has no heat

prolly, thanks dino. I'll probably check out the doors and see how bad it is, then order them and have em shipped. It aint the most crucial thing, as i'm in Hawaii and clearly not gonna freeze to death. i did wanna cruise up to the snow this year tho, so by Januaury will be reasonable. I'm close enough to work so that I can tear apart the dash and junk and leave it over night and walk to work if I have to. Would be ok for even a few days... my ass could use a little exercise lol
