Re: Blend door longevity

Because I didn't repair them individually, I'll always have a code for the passenger motor side of the bleed doors, but as long as everything is working I won't be checking for codes anyway.
I thought I was pretty thorough researching repairs for this but I haven't seen anything regarding stronger factory doors for later models. If that is the case then I have something to look forward to when I upgrade to a later model in a few years.

Re: Blend door longevity

I have a 2004 JGC with 75,000 miles and I had the same situation as Me Fix had. After shutting down the ignition there was a "tick tick tick" sound (see thread of the same name) coming from what seemed like was the underside of the passenger dash. I heard it on the test drive but had no idea what it was. Luckily the salesman heard it too. I had the Jeep home for a few weeks and did not hear the sound for awhile because I am deaf in one ear and was getting out of the Jeep.
Then one day after stopping for gas I heard it again and posted the thread and quite a few helpful members told me what they thought the problem was.

When I talked to the dealer about the sound they told me it was a 7 or 8 hour fix as the dashboard has to be removed. It goes back to the dealer today to get fixed under the 30 day warranty they gave me when I bought the Jeep. Well we shall see what happens, I just don't feel comfortable about the dash being removed but the dealer says they do it all the time with the WJ. I have my fingers are crossed and I am hoping for the best.
